How to Address Uneven Residential Cooling
Here in North Carolina, the summers can get quite warm. That’s when you feel fortunate to have air conditioning. Air conditioning can make everything much more comfortable, but you may have noticed that one room in your home tends to be cooler or warmer than another. Uneven cooling is an issue that we sometimes see here at Prime Comfort. It can be addressed in several different ways.
One of the first things you can do is examine your air vents. Sometimes, air vents can be accidentally closed or blocked by furniture, and they tend to get clogged by dust and debris. If this is the case, it’s easy to open things up. A vacuum fitted with an attachment should do the trick.
Change Your Settings
You can try to switch your fan to the “on” position rather than the “auto” position. This may work because the fan can circulate air even when the cooling system isn’t working. Blowing air around can serve to even things out.
Call in the Professionals
If you still have an issue with uneven cooling, it may be best to call in a team such as ours at Prime Comfort. We can check for air leaks and other issues that may be causing the imbalance.
Depending on your home’s layout, we might recommend configuring your HVAC system to work with different zones. Zones allow you to have more control over specific areas in your home. In a multistory house, for example, this eliminates problems related to hot air rising. While it does involve a greater up-front cost, it can help tremendously in the long run.
